United Socialist States of America

A poll commissioned by CBS News earlier this week not only found
most Americans could not name a single Democrat running for the
presidency next year, but better than half who responded said
they wanted more Democrat choices.
The poll's leader is an indication of why there is little
support out there for Democrats in 2004. The top vote-getter so
far is a warmed-over retread from the 2000 election; Sen. Joseph
Lieberman, D-Conn., got a whopping 14 percent. And he's the
leader, mind you. Others, like Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio, got
0 percent.
Why? What has happened in America that has turned off the
majority of the electorate to Democrats? Is it President Bush's
leadership? Is it the leadership of Republicans?
Partly. But there is another aspect trimming support for
Democrats. It is because the mainstream of the party is too
liberal and too socialist for a free people to tolerate. The
party itself doesn't represent the kind of values endemic to the
founding of the republic. Rather, the kind of values and ideals
embraced by today's Democrats are more appropriate for a United
Socialist States of America.
What values and ideals?
For starters, Democrats never met a tax they didn't like. So
wedded to your money are they that all of the major candidates
for Bush's job are pledging to negate the two tax cuts the
president pushed through Congress. To hide their zeal for your
productivity, they couch their quest in class warfare. They
accuse Republicans of giving tax cuts to "the rich," but as the
Washington Times reported earlier this summer, more working poor
were booted off the tax rolls after Bush's cuts than at any
other time in our history. That means, of course, the remaining
tax burden is being shifted to "the rich." But this isn't news;
"the rich" have paid the vast majority of taxes in this country
for decades. Think about it: Poor people have no money, so what
sense does it make for lawmakers to try to raise tax revenues
from them?
Democrats are also champions of gun control but they can't
help it because they're born-again hypocrites. They will
surround themselves with all kinds of taxpayer-provided armed
security while working feverishly to deny you and your family
the right to protect yourselves.
Democrats are also the party of "choice," as long as you make
a choice they agree with. They support a "choice" to kill an
unborn child, but oppose letting you choose which school you
want to send your children.
They are also the party of "tolerance." They will "tolerate"
your point of view as long as you agree with them. If you don't,
you're a hater, a homophobe, a bigot, a racist, an anti-Semite
or a Nazi. In other words, Democrats become intolerant of you if
you are not of like mind.
Democrats are pro-immigrant as long as they don't have a
thousand illegals a night trashing their property or traipsing
through their suburban condo.
Democrats are the party of the environment – so much so that
they have prevented U.S. companies from developing domestic
energy supplies over the past 40 years, even as they killed the
nuclear-power industry. That's because Democrats would rather
you pay five bucks a gallon for gasoline than one. They would
rather America send billions to regimes overseas that sponsor
terrorism against Americans than buy domestic oil and gas
products.
Democrat lawmakers spray jet fumes all over the country
traveling to make speeches denouncing jet fumes. And how dare
you believe trees were put on God's green Earth to build and
heat homes, when you know they were put here to manufacture
reams of paper for Democrats to write lengthy regulations to
save trees.
George Bush and the Republicans aren't perfect creatures,
either. But, then again, the last perfect soul died on a cross
about 2,000 years ago. As Americans, we can't reasonably expect
perfection, but, as Americans, we at least ought to expect our
politicians and political leaders to respect our founding
ideology.
Democrats don't do that. In fact they believe the
Constitution is an outmoded, outdated document best suited for a
time long past, just like the other great socialists throughout
history: Marx, Trotsky, Mao, Hitler and Stalin.
I don't wonder why there isn't much enthusiasm for the
Democrat Party's current standard-bearers. It's because they
don't represent what America stands for. |
