Mr. Lyster is a Certified Taxation Law Specialist (Board of Legal Specialization of the State Bar of California) and a California licensed Real Estate Broker. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of California, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before all California courts, U.S. District Court, Central District of California, U.S. Tax Court, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Bachelor of Science; Humanities and Science), the University of Southern California (Master of Business Taxation), and Loyola Law School (Juris Doctor), he is a frequent contributor of tax, real estate and estate planning articles for trade journals and bar associations. 

He is also a committed participant in community service and public affairs. He is an active member and Past President of the Westwood Village Rotary Club, and serves on the Board of the Westside YMCA and the California Pacific United Methodist Foundation.
